Reading and writing in Arabic is difficult for someone with a non-Arabic background. This is because the writing differs considerably. Arabic grammar also differs from most Western languages. The grammar of the Arabic language is often more extensive. When you have mastered the alphabet a bit, writing and reading can be learned faster. Arabic is also difficult for Arabs because the short vowels are not shown in most texts.
Arabic is spoken by around 240 million people worldwide. It is spoken in countries such as Egypt, Israel, and Yemen. The Arabic language is a Semitic language. The Koran is written in Arabic and is therefore seen as the mother tongue of the Islamic world.
Arabic is written from right to left differently than Dutch. This does not apply to the writing of figures, which are written from left to right. The Arabic alphabet also includes more letters (28). Many mathematical, philosophical and astrological works from world history are written in Arabic.
In 1973, Arabic was officially recognized by the United Nations as the sixth language. In addition to Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian, French and Spanish are also official languages of the United Nations.

The expansion of the English language throughout the world runs parallel with the growth of the British Empire in the nineteenth century. In addition, the position of English has been strengthened by the status of the United States as a world power with its growing economic and cultural influence, particularly since the Second World War. In many professions, good knowledge of English is a requirement, with the result that at least one billion people are proficient in English. It is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.

More than 500 million people speak Hindi, making Hindi the third language in the world. It is the first official language of India.
Hindi is the written variant of the Hindustani used by the Hindus. The Devanagari alphabet of Hindi is also used for Sanskrit.

Russian
Russian is one of the largest languages in the world and the largest cultural language in Europe. It is the language of the largest country in the world: Russia. Russian uses a variant of the Cyrillic alphabet. This is a very old alphabet, invented by missionaries Cyril and Methodius in the 9th century when they wanted to bring Christianity to the Slav peoples. The current form dates from 1918.
Russian is the official language of the Russian Federation and one of the working languages of the UN. In many states of the former Soviet Union and in Eastern Europe, Russian has remained important because of the great Russian influence. Examples are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzstan), Belarus, Mongolia, etc.

Spanish
Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the world. Spanish is not only spoken in Spain but also in large parts of Central and South America.
With the discovery of America in 1492 by Columbus, the spread of Spanish to the world began.
- For 329 million people, Spanish is the native language, 170 million people speak Spanish as a second language.
- Spanish is spoken not only in Spain and in large parts of Latin America, but also in the Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, Western Sahara and the southern United States.
